Welcome to the brand new seafelt blog!

I’ve been working on version 3 of seafelt Performance Manager for quite a while now, and I’ve been frustrated that I didn’t have a good way to share what’s going on in the background with you. I’ve started this blog so that I can quickly write up a spiel about whatever we’re working on, rather than having to go through the more rigorous publishing regime we use for the main, commercial site www.seafelt.com.

I didn’t want to clutter up the News section with random noise, but I also wanted a richer platform than emails to the mailing lists. Blogging here will be more public than email, or burying things in my personal website amongst everything else.

So what will you find here? Stuff about seafelt, the development process, new features, and ideas that we think might be cool. You’ll also find stuff about statistical analysis, analytics, metrics, automation, and any other topic that seafelt products deal with. Knowing the background for why we’ve built our tools the way we have will help you to understand what we’re trying to do.

But most importantly, it will give you, the users of our products, a forum to talk about seafelt and related stuff. Tell us what you’d like to see! Tell us about the cool thing you did with a tool. Tell us about the completely broken way a tool works, so everyone else can avoid the same pain. It’ll get our attention, too, and we’ll be able to fix things for you.

Let’s start fixing all the boring bits of our IT jobs so we can spend more time on the fun stuff!
